Raw egg yolks to sleep well?
I have been eating raw salmon every day and ignoring egg yolks. But I am finding the quality of my sleep has deteriorated; I used to sleep really soundly but now I am sort of drifting in and out of sleep even when I'm tired. Would eating some raw egg yolks solve the problem?
Yes, that might very well be the case.
In general, people that are 'serotonine-sensitive' (readily feeling depressed in winter, happy in the summer) may very much benefit from fresh raw egg yolks, regarding sleep, general feeling of well being / happiness. That is because the high (good) cholesterol contents of the eggs stimulates the serotonine receptors.
Try eating a number of egg yolks about 20 minutes before you want to go to sleep.
Of course, you should gradually get used to eating many egg yolks. Srat carefully and then systematicvally up the dose.
