Slow juicer recipes
Hi forum
I start this thread so that we can share slow juicer recipes here. ✎
If you have a slow juicer, I am really curious about what your favorite recipes are so far??
I will start with sharing mine!
–♢◆♢–
Fruit paradise juice
1/2 pineapple
3 oranges
1 mango
You can also substitute the oranges for tangerines, as they are especially good right now!
–♢◆♢–
Popsicle ice-cream juice
Make the juice above but also add a little little bit of fresh ginger (if you eat that! it tastes great without it too)
It tastes exactly like a popsicle! You can also leave out the mango from this.
I am sure that if you put this juice into those kinds of popsicle ice-cream molds it will be the perfect treat!
But I haven't tried that yet, because I don't have any molds….
–♢◆♢–
Apple-grape juice
400 g grapes
4 apples
–♢◆♢–
Banana ice-cream
1. Take some bananas, peel them, put them in the freezer.
2. When they are hard but still just soft enough to cut with a knife, cut them into 2-3 cm/1 inch pieces.
3. Juice them one at a time to not destroy the machine.
4. Collect what comes out both on the juice side and the pulp side and stir it together.
5. You can put oil, raisins, nuts etc on top of it! I prefer to eat it with raisins and also with coconut oil from a separate bowl, because if you put the oil on top of this it will just be to hard/solid to eat it.
–♢◆♢–
Almond milk
250 g/1 cup of almonds
≈500 ml/2 cups water
1. Shell the almonds and put them in a big bowl with water overnight.
2. In the morning, discard the water and put them in 500 ml of new water.
3. Juice the almonds and the water together. Be careful to take enough water when you do it, otherwise the machine will stop!
4. The almond milk tastes great together with dates, but I haven't really figured out how to actually put them inside the milk (except using a blender of corse, but I don't want to do that…)
5. If you don't want to throw away the almond pulp you can save it and use it later for date balls. But if you do this it will be better if you peel the nuts before juicing them.
They peel very easily after sitting in the water all night.

Re: Slow juicer recipes
I have my wai basic smoothie that I drink almost everyday and in combination with yolks + olive oil, 2L of it contains all the vitamins and nutrients you need:
Overkees's power smoothie:
1 big banana
500 mL Orange juice (3 oranges)
The trick with the banana is to throw the pulp in a few times (3-4 times) then you will get a lot of juice from the banana. Also make sure the banana is almost totally brown. When I have this drink available I don't have cravings at all.
The next juice is not 100% wai, but carrots and ginger are okay when consumed in moderation.
Ginger, Carrot, Orange Juice
5 Oranges
2 cm ginger
1 medium sized carrot
It's absolutely delicious and my treat for in the weekend.
And of course the Pina colada:
First grate the fresh coconut. Then add the coconut water from the coconut itself + 1 cup of water and let it run through the slow juicer. You will get a very fat creamy mixture. Put this in the refrigrator for a few hours and take the fat layer on top of with a spoon and put it apart.
Now slow juice the pineapple and mix the coconut milk with the pineapple juice. Absolutely delicious!
You can now use the fatty coconut cream as a dip for the fruits. Bananas are my favorite combination. But I found strawberry, mango and pineapple to be delightful aswell.

Re: Slow juicer recipes
I'm curious which juicer these were done with.
My primary recipe is 6 oranges and 2 bananas, the OO. If the Hurom (what I have) can handle it maybe I'll add some almonds as suggested here.

Re: Slow juicer recipes
I use a Versapers, which is practically the same as a Hurom slow juicer.

Love Spice!
Ok, so the other day I drank a juice in a juice bar where they make their own juices. The name of the juice was "Love Spice".
It's really really good and everyone should try it!!
You need:
1 big mango
2 granny smith apples
2 passion fruits
1 small piece of ginger
Juice everything and stir carefully!
Ready!

Re: Slow juicer recipes
I don't know if people here still use their slow juicers or if you have "outgrown" them?
I haven't!!!
Here's a new recipe. I call it:
*drum roll*
The Great Juice Recipe!!
Put in the juicer:
1 mango
3 bananas
4 passion fruits
1 kiwi
It's really tasty, and also goes well with egg yolks I think.
The kiwi I used was an interesting variety that I found here in Belgium called Kiwi Rouge, red kiwi!

Hah at first I thought you call the recipe "drum roll" :D
Never heard of red kiwi before.
Maybe I should think about a slow juicer, it's getting boring with the OJ only..

Re: Slow juicer recipes
You'll love it
Re: Slow juicer recipes
Doesnt the slow juicer destroy the small black pits in kiwi? (releasing a bitter taste)
Re: Slow juicer recipes
I didn't notice any bitter taste at all!

Re: Slow juicer recipes
Strawberry mint juice
Put in the juicer:
1 pear
1 apple
10 strawberries
fresh mint leaves
Very summery and fresh juice! My favorite juice right now. ^.^
Instead of juicing the mint you can also blend it with the rest of the juice in a blender,
but don't do this if you are very acne sensitive.

Re: Slow juicer recipes
I sometimes put a drop of peppermint oil in an apple-banana juice, I agree it gives it a really fresh taste!
Or in water + sugar (when I go biking), it makes it 10x better tasting :)

Re: Slow juicer recipes
Is that an "etheric" oil they sell in reform shops? Where do you buy it?
