lactic acid
so i lifted weights for the first time in 10 years and now 2 days later my whole body is still very sore! should i still work out when its sore like this or wait for it to pass?

If you can stand the pain, sure :) Just go slow when you're sore and don't put too much weight so that you avoid injuries, because your muscles tendons etc are stiff and with more limited range of motion.

Especially in the beginning its better to be way too careful than just a little too careless.
When you start training after a long time of inactivity, gradually intensify your exercise regime.
