300 gram raw beef 4 L orange juice
I'm now on a diet width 4 L orange juice, and 300 gram raw beef, nothing else.
The raw beef, is in dutch called 'tartaar', i think it's called steak tartare in english, it has 22 gram protein and 10 gram fat per 100 gram.
Because of financial issues, i'm not eating fish anymore, just can't afford it. And I don't really like raw eggs, because of some bad experiences width it I think.
Beside this, steak tartare is also cheaper than organic eggs.
Is this diet healthy ? Anyone ever tried? I'm a little bit worrying about omega 3 and iodide, and maybe other micronutrients which eggs and fish cover better.

The carb:fat ratio is quite high at 50:1...not sure if that'll cause any problems, but from an optimal point of view it might be better to add oil instead of sugar.

I get also 30 gram fat from beef, which makes 11:1. Is that a good ratio ?
And what about the micronutrients?
I think I get enough zinc, selenium, phosphorus, iron and vitamin B2,B3,B6 and B12 from the beef to fil lthose gaps in the nutrient table. And vitamin D I get enough from the sun at the moment.
But about omega 3, iodide, vitamin A and E I have some doubts. What would you say ?

For Omega3 perhaps eat small portions of fish 2-3 times a week? And add up the protein level to what is good for you with the meat?
50gr salmon 2-3 times a week shouldn't be that expensive I believe. Just a suggestion.

That ratio is still quite large, it'd be better to add some olive oil instead of sugar to the juice.
You could get some omega 3, vitamin A and D from 2-3 grams of fish liver oil per day. But you already have quite a bit of vitamin A there, 8000IU?
For vitamin E you could include some nuts, usually they contain significant amounts of it.

Thats only 1,25 euro a day.
You can easily alternate the beef with salmon regularly.
beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A, when required.
Also, salmon would supply you with substantial vitamin A and E.

Recently I discovered Lidl sells frozen herring, unsalted. We paid 2,50 for 4 fillets. Maybe that is an option for you? We tried it, it tastes good

I'm sporting 4 a 5 times a week. One hour a day. Concering blood sugar levels, I think I'm quite okay.If you are physically active, you need much sugar relative to fat.

Herring is high in omega 3 and iodide (and vitamin E and A)

It's cheaper on the market indeed. There is a small market stall selling fish, facing the organic fruit- and vegetable stand (coming from the Grote Markt on the left side of the market). We used to get it there for like 13-14,-/kg. It's probably more expensive now, as that was a couple of years ago. Another option is buying a whole salmon somewhere, fillet it and freezing it. Although frozen salmon you buy from the supermarket is groce indeed (sorry RRM, have to agree with Kasper here ), fresh salmon which you have frozen yourself tastes almost as good as fresh non-frozen. But that is, ofcourse, just my opinion
Anyway, we do it like that, and pay just 7 euro/kg (but ofcourse you waste more)

@Iris, this is a bit off topic, but may I ask what you do with the frozen herring from Lidl.. ? Just thaw it and eat it.. or you use something with it like lime or lemon or so? I think I have to go check the Lidl fish section again and see if they have it.

I just defrost it, take out all fish-bones (what can I say, I'm very picky when it comes to food ) and if needed remove the skin (was a bit tough last time, probably because they're unsalted). Then just eat it (I don't like lemon juice, or anything else for that matter, on my fish, spoils the taste completely in my opinion).
@Kasper: I was thinking, maybe you could try to find mackerel (or order it somewhere, for instance at the stall I mentioned). It's very cheap (probably around 5,-/kg).
